Brooke 103 h.p. 40-F28/30 Marine Motor Restoration…
The history of ML 117 was purely speculative until a meeting with John Brooke in 1991 established that “Smuggler’s” engine beds matched those specified by JW Brooke & Co. for use in their 65-F/10 marine motors, as standardised for use by the RNAS in their fast Seaplane Tenders.
On completion of ‘Operation Adrian’ in 1992, John’s objective was to fully restore the last remaining Brooke 40-F28/30 Marine Motor to pristine condition… but not before a nice cup of tea!
Note: - John Brooke (below) is credited for rebuilding the only remaining 103 h.p. ‘Brooke 40-F/28/30 Marine Motor’ in existence, using all new ex-stock parts at his disposal to complete this rebuild.
